Speaking of Silence......

You said "LIFT UP YOUR EYES THE HARVEST IS HERE THE KINGDOM IS NEAR." You said, "ASK AND I'LL GIVE THE NATIONS TO YOU." thats the cry of my heart...

Fool for Christ

God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena...We are fools for Christ...To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless. We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we answer kindly. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world.
1 Corinthians 4:9-13

So when first reading this the word fool stood out to me because this is a very popular word among me and a few of my friends (Amanda.) but its just a word I say I never really knew the meaning of it so I looked it up. I found many definitions but these two seem to fit with what Paul was saying here.

Fool- 1.One who subverts convention or orthodoxy or varies from social conformity in order to reveal spiritual or moral truth
2.One with a marked propensity or fondness for something.

I really like the first definition because Paul has given up a lot. He says in acts that we are to suffer for Christ. And in this passage he says he is hungry and all sorts of things and then at the end says he is the scum of the earth. The question that was tugging on my heart was. "is this what God has called me to?" and when I asked my self this I can see God sitting saying duh...What else is there. God created us for a purpose and it wasn't to see how rich we could get, or how much power we could gain, or how good of an athlete we can be. God created us simply for the purpose of bringing him glory. And that is what I want to do. I want to do this at the expense of my comfort. I want to be a fool for Christ. I want to suffer for his name. Nothing else here matters. The people that I try and impress don't matter, being comfortable doesn't matter, having lots of friends doesn't matter. Bring glory to my Creator and my God is the only thing that should keep me going each day. 50 years after im gone are people going to remember me, I don't know, but I would hope that if they do they would be able to say that I was a person willing to do anything for the glory of God...That I was and am a fool for Christ.

A bitter sweet weekend

so this past weekend was amazing. it was the igo reunion/banquet so i got to see a lot of my JSI buddies and some of the one week kids. and there were some that couldn't make it that i wish had. but things happen. but yeah it was some fun junk hanging with my buds. we def. went to a tattoo place and my friend jessica got her a tatt...sounded more like she was having a baby...but yeah she made it through. then jenn and taylor got they noses pierced, and i must say they did look cute. Unfortunately i didn't get anything b/c i am poor and had no money. but that was prolly a good thing b/c i already can barley lay on my ears right now. and we def. so some dude get thrown out of a club and try to start a fight...i enjoyed that. on friday night we just had a blast hanging out and talking about the summer and being loud and crazy just like old times. then at the banquet got to see everyone all dressed up which was a change from this summer b/c everyone pretty much looked like Scheiße all summer, well i did anyways...yeah yall like how i got that lil "ß" in there huh? so anyways thats all the sweet part. the bitter part comes in when you have to say bye...again...to people that you love and you know its gonna be a while before you see some of them again. but i know that i will be seeing most of them again. esp those that live somewhat close to me. so its all good. but i will miss those that i wont be seeing for awhile....its sad i know. so basically thats my weekend...talk to yall fool later.
